Picket Fence Studios April Release

Sharing some crafty inspiration today using the fun new release at Picket Fence Studios.

Sometimes tea is the only thing

Products Used

Filled to the brim stamp set

Filled to the brim die

Kaleidoscope Butterflies

Sequin mix plus – on a cloudy day

Slimline Retro Burst Stencil

I wanted to use vellum instead of acetate for a shaker window but didn’t want to mute out the pretty shaker bits. By adding extra strong liquid glue to the top of the vellum I was able to show the pretty shaker bits without muting them behind vellum.

To attach the ladies I used dimensional tape on the back of the ladies but positioned it around the layer of embellishments to keep the face on the card as level as possible.

You will always be my cup of tea

Products Used

Filled to the brim stamp set

Filled to the brim die

Tropical Leaves A2 Stencil

Sequin Mix Plus – Crafty Friends

I used oxide inks in the colours salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo, scattered straw, mowed lawn, wilted violet and wild honey on the leafy stencil.

Picket Fence April Release

It’s a new release over at Picket Fence Studios and I am so excited to be guest designing this month using some of the fabulous crafty items from this release.

I’m sharing two cards today using the graceful Koi stamp set with matching die and some of the fun new embellishment/shakers from the release.

Slimline shaker – MAY THE FUTURE BRING YOU MUCH SUCCESS

Using wild honey oxide ink and the new Slimline Randomness Hexagon Stencil on a trimmed down sheet of white card stock, ink up and add to a white slimline card base.

Create a shaker frame using acetate and fill with the new Sequin Mix Plus Honey Bears and attach on top.

Stamp sentiment in black versa fine onyx black ink, heat emboss in clear and add dimensional tape and attach to shaker frame.

Stamp and die cut graceful Koi and glue in place.

A HAPPY LIFE NEEDS BALANCE

Start with a white card stock panel trimmed down to 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stencil the new Slimline Hexagon Randomness Stencil with patina oxide ink. Stamp the bubbles from the Graceful Koi fish in a soft turquoise on the panel as well.

Stamp and die cut Graceful Koi fish in orange and turquoise and glue on panel. Trim off fish that over hang the panel. Using dimensional tape add another layer of fish and trim off any parts that overhang.

Add sentiment stamped in black and heat embossed in clear on white cardstock and attach to center of card with dimensional tape.

Finish with a few clear gems from the new Wishes embellishments.

~ now for the tutorial you have been waiting for ~

Start by die cutting 20-30 sheets using the notepad die.  Use copy paper and die cut 3 or 4 at a time to speed things up.  On some of these I stamped grids and lines to the sheets.

Die cut the notepad die again 4-6 times using thick card stock and/or patterned paper  (These will be the dividers)

How many dividers and copy paper will be dependent on the size of jump ring or binder rings you use.

COVER
From card stock cut the largest stitched rectangle die, cut in half.
Using the notepad die mark with pencil on the inside of each side where the holes are and hole punch.

Glue and add on patterned paper to the front of the scallop die cut and hole punch again.

With the card stock/patterned paper notepad die cuts glue on tabs.  Some tabs I doubled up for extra interest.

Stack covers, dividers and lined paper together.
Using large jump rings/ or small journal rings feed through holes and close with jewelry pliers.
Attach chain and beads to top jump ring.  Make chain long enough to use as a page marker.
Finish the cover by wrapping 2 thin strips of ribbon leaving enough length to tie a bow.  Glue ribbon in place on back and layer die cuts with more glue to secure ribbon.
For the front add a flag and rounded rectangle die cut, glue in place.  Place ribbon over top and glue down.  Add the stitched label over top with liquid glue.
Finish with another rounded rectangle, a sentiment and hot glue on a button.
You can also add the months using the Everyday Calendar and cute images.

Love you slow much

Playing along with the “Seasons”challenge using the newly released Sloffee Stamp Set from Your Next Stamp. We are in the middle of winter and it’s been super cold here. So when the theme came up for seasons I thought this sloth hanging out in a cup of flowers was the season I would like to time travel to right now. I hope you enjoy my take on a season other then winter.

To make this card.

I inked up a white card stock panel with oxide ink in the colours kitsch flamingo and squeezed lemonade. I added on top the flower panel die and tea cup die. I added some polka dots with a white gel pen to the cup as well as a heart background stencilled to the back.

I did some quick colouring on lots of pretty die cut flowers which I glued on top and behind the cup. I finished the card with the sloth glued on top of the cup and a sentiment attached to the middle.

There is sooooo many awesome stamp sets and dies in this release. I used the new lilies stamp set on some newly released mini slimline dies for my hop card! Don’t you just love lilies. Yes, they are suppose to be yellow but I broke the rules and coloured them in a gorgeous blue shade.

I kept my card simple by layering the mini slimline Deckle edge dies and tying some twine off to the side. I coloured and cut the lilies and attached them with dimensional tape to create a little more dimension.

I finished my card with a sentiment heat embossed in black and a few nuvo drops.

Good luck on the hop and thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget to hop on over to these fabulous designers blogs for your chance to win!

Sprinkled with love

There’s some sweet and exciting products that just showed up in the Your Next Stamp store just in time for Valentine’s Day!

You can shop all of the new release here.

Your Next Stamp

Today I’m sharing two cards using the adorable Sprinkled With Love Stamp Set.

This release is filled with so much sweetness. From cocoa to cotton candy and with a pair of adorable sloths thrown in there is way to much cuteness for everyone.

I thought these images would look great with yummy rainbow colours.

I kept the donut card super simple with a coloured background panel layered under the mini slimline star die with a inked up blue background. I added a bit of foam tape under the donuts and sentiment to prop them up off the card and add a bit more dimension.

For the sweet cotton candies I gave them a fun shaker card to hang out on. I filled it with lots of yummy shaker bits over a rainbow heart background. I added a die cut to the top of my shaker using the Honey drip die and finished the card with a sentiment and those cute cotton candies attached with dimensional tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting. I hope you enjoyed my cards today!

Allie
