Herd it’s your birthday

Hello Newton’s Nook fans! I’ve had so much fun and am so excited to have had the opportunity to guest design this month with all these insanely talented artists. For my last card guesting I used the beyond adorable “moo” stamp set. My plan was to use one of the cows for this card but couldn’t decide which one was cuter so in the end 3 of them made there way on to it and I’m so glad they did. I love how this card turned out.

Here’s how I created this card.

Start with a white slimline card base.

On top layer a white scallop slimline die cut slightly smaller.

Next make a slightly smaller slimline frame and ink up with oxide ink in the colour tattered rose.

Ink up a piece of white card stock with a cobblestone stencil using oxide inks in the colours antique linen, gathered twigs and brushed corduroy. Die cut a cloud border die strip (enough to cover the bottom of your slimline) and some additional clouds from your inked panel.

Position and glue the cows heads, clouds and larger cloud to the back of the frame. Glue some grass strips behind the bottom of the large cloud at bottom.

Add foam tape to the frame and attach to top of card.

Add a cow to the bottom and a sentiment stamped on a white cloud with dimensional tape.

Finish the card with a few nuvo drops.

Autumn mice

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!, I’m back again this week with another card using the adorable autumn mice. These cuties with their fall settings cover both my love of mice and fall.

To make this card.

Start by scoring your card stock in half and placing a larger circle die on top with the top of the circle hanging slightly over the score line. Run through die machine.

Next glue a larger scalloped circle die cut on top of your card base. Die cut a slightly smaller circle and with wild honey oxide ink ink the second part of the argyle stencil and glue on top of your scalloped circle.

Next layer yellow card stock, a white cross stitch die cut and an inverted scallop in the shape of a circle to the center with dimensional tape.

Attach mouse and sentiment with dimensional tape.

Finish the card by gluing in some leaves behind the mouse and adding nuvo drops and a twine bow.

A kitten Christmas

Hello Newton’s Nook fans! I’ve been having so much fun quest designing this month. For today’s card I created a soft pink slimline card for these sweet kittens to hang out on.

To make this card.

Start with a white slimline card base. Layer from the bottom up. A large pink stitched rectangle panel, next a slightly smaller scalloped panel with snowflakes stencilled on it.

For the top layer I created a shaker panel. To make the shaker, die cut a frame with a slimline rectangle set and use vellum for the window. Fill the window with lots of sparkly happiness and attach foam to the back of the frame. Close it up with white copy paper with a pink card stock strip in the middle.

Attach a string around the window to dangle some snowflake die cuts from.

Finish the card by adding some cute kittens and a sentiment with dimensional tape and a few nuvo drops and sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my take on a kittens Christmas.

Allie

Savor life’s small moments

Hello Crafty friends! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to guest design this month with all the fabulous artists over at Newton’s Nook.

For my first card I am sharing how I used these seriously adorable mice to make a fall inspired slimline card.

To make this card,

Start by cutting a slimline frame from white card stock. Stamp and colour leaves to add some extra visual interest.

Use the argyle stencil and blend tattered rose, scattered straw and wild honey oxide inks. Cut apart and attach to the back of the two outer windows on the slimline frame.

For the middle window I used a piece of patterned paper in a soft yellow and attached to the back of the frame as well.

Attach the mice with dimensional tape to each of the windows.

For some added dimension stamp a second mouse with the leaves blowing and fussy cut out the leaves. Attach on top of the image with foam tape.

I finished the card with a brown card stock panel layered behind the slimline frame, a sentiment and some nuvo drops.

Crafty hugs,

Allie
