Im totally loving Octobers animal house stamps. These cuties and fun sentiments make the sweetest cards. I really love the platypus in this set and will definitely be using her on many cards in the future with the sentiments in this set as well as combining her with other sentiments as well.

Card 1

  • Stamp grass in mowed lawn oxide ink and blend mowed lawn oxide ink over the image. Die cut multiples
  • Glue to white stitched rectangle.
  • Attach Platypus and flower in front of grass strips.
  • Stamp sentiment in black and heat emboss in clear.

Card 2

  • Using a punch or a floral die cut, cut multiples, color with copics and glue to a white rectangle panel.
  • Glue panel to card base.
  • Stamp sentiment on a small stitched rectangle and add to front of panel.
  • Add platypus and grass die cuts.

I miss your face is this weeks theme at La-La Land Crafts and it is a sentiment we can definitely all relate to right now. Here is the steps to create this card.

  • On a white card base add a patterned paper panel.
  • Add a large pink scalloped square.
  • Cut a large white die cut square, stamp sentiment and add a grass strip and clouds behind it and attach with foam tape.
  • Colour and fussy cut image and attach with foam tape.
  • Die cut heart die and stamp background stamp on centre of heart. Attach to card with foam tape.
  • Die cut flowers, colour and add around card. Finish with a small twine bow.

Tutorial Thursday – Waterfall Folio

Hello everyone! Welcome to Tutorial Thursday!

Allison here with you today to share a tutorial with you!

Today’s tutorial is:  Waterfall Folio

A mini waterfall folio with a inner pocket

PAPER CUTS & SCORING
Chip board 
(2) 6″x 3.5″
(1) .5″ x 6″

Coloured Card Stock
(6) 3″ x 3.5″ Scored at 3″
(1) 7 1/4″ x 5 3/4″
(1) 9 1/8″ x 7 5/8″ Score 3/4″on all 4 sides

Patterned Paper

~ now for the tutorial you have been waiting for ~ 


Start by cutting chipboard pieces and attach with score tape to 9 1/8″ x 7 5/8″ coloured card stock.  Line up chipboard to score lines.  Cut corners on an angle to remove excess bulk.  Add more score tape and fold score lines over chipboard, burnish.


Use tape runner or score tape and add 7 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ coloured card stock.
Attach patterned paper (3″ x 5.5″) to coloured card stock (5 3/4″ x 3 1/4″). Attach one to back cover set the other aside. 
Add score tape and glue to ribbon and add attach to front cover.  I wanted my ribbon showing at the back but not the front.  You can add the ribbon under the front and the back if you want.

Attach the set aside panel and add a scalloped square with the stamped sentiment.

Attach with glue runner or score tape the 2 3/4″ 2 3/4″ patterned paper panels to the 3′ x 3.5″ scored panels.

 

Using score tape line up panels on the right inside.  Working your way down lining up one at a time butt each panel below the one above.  The very first one I used a die cut square from white card stock instead of patterned paper because I wanted to add an image.
Add patterned paper 3″ x 5.5″ to inside left and attach pocket.
Die cut and colour flowers and Doily.  Arrange on front cover.

Technique Tuesday Cattails Stamp

Every month Technique Tuesday releases a floral stamp to their greenhouse society stamps and this month its gorgeous cattails. I loved how this filled the front of a card and with some very simple colouring you can create multiple of these cards quickly.

Both cards were coloured in copics with some distress oxide ink blended backgrounds. Using nested died I was able to create lots of layers and texture. I finished the one by wrapping twine around multiple times and finished with a paper flower and sprigs of heart strings from the heart strings die set.

This weeks theme at La-La Land Crafts is all about hearts and love. I didn’t want to do the traditional red heart theme so I stepped out of the box with this sweet duck holding his single flower. By going less traditional this card really could be used any time of year and not just for valentines.

Here is the steps to create this card.

Step 1 – Die cut a large and medium scallop panel from white card stock. The smaller scallop panel stamp in your ink choice the hearts forever background stamp.

Step 2 – Stamp sentiment on scalloped circle die cut and cut a portion off the scallop towards the bottom to create a half circle.

Step 3 – Add leaves, duck, and heart wreaths to the smaller panel. Glue down and add twine around it. Adhere to large scallop panel. Glue to your card base.

Here is the steps to create this card,

Step 1 – Die cut large rectangle panel twice and large scallop panel once from white card stock.

Step – 2 With the one large rectangle panel die cut the polka dot plate twice on it. On the other rectangle panel blend green ink.

Step 3 -Die cut cloud die from white card stock and glue to right side of the polka dot panel.

Step 4 – Colour hamsters, cupcake and small flowers. Adhere with glue to front of panel.

Step 5 – Layer starting with card base, white scallop rectangle, inked rectangle panel, polka dot panel. Finish with sentiment, hamsters and flowers.
