Party of puffins

How cute are these puffins! These sweeties are called Party Of Puffins from the September Animal House release at Technique Tuesday Fabulous sentiments and 3 cute puffins are in this adorable set.

I love the look of orange and grey together so I tried to incorporate those colours into both cards.

For the gorgeous orange intensity I used Wild Honey Oxide Ink and some simple ink blending.

The puffins I coloured with Copics in the colours W7,5,3 for the dark grey and the orange I used YR09,Y38,35

Hope these cards inspire you! 🧡

A kitten Christmas

Hello Newton’s Nook fans! I’ve been having so much fun quest designing this month. For today’s card I created a soft pink slimline card for these sweet kittens to hang out on.

To make this card.

Start with a white slimline card base. Layer from the bottom up. A large pink stitched rectangle panel, next a slightly smaller scalloped panel with snowflakes stencilled on it.

For the top layer I created a shaker panel. To make the shaker, die cut a frame with a slimline rectangle set and use vellum for the window. Fill the window with lots of sparkly happiness and attach foam to the back of the frame. Close it up with white copy paper with a pink card stock strip in the middle.

Attach a string around the window to dangle some snowflake die cuts from.

Finish the card by adding some cute kittens and a sentiment with dimensional tape and a few nuvo drops and sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my take on a kittens Christmas.

Allie

Savor life’s small moments

Hello Crafty friends! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to guest design this month with all the fabulous artists over at Newton’s Nook.

For my first card I am sharing how I used these seriously adorable mice to make a fall inspired slimline card.

To make this card,

Start by cutting a slimline frame from white card stock. Stamp and colour leaves to add some extra visual interest.

Use the argyle stencil and blend tattered rose, scattered straw and wild honey oxide inks. Cut apart and attach to the back of the two outer windows on the slimline frame.

For the middle window I used a piece of patterned paper in a soft yellow and attached to the back of the frame as well.

Attach the mice with dimensional tape to each of the windows.

For some added dimension stamp a second mouse with the leaves blowing and fussy cut out the leaves. Attach on top of the image with foam tape.

I finished the card with a brown card stock panel layered behind the slimline frame, a sentiment and some nuvo drops.

Allie

Your next Stamp New Release

Thanks for stopping by!, I’m so excited to be guest designing this month for Your Next Stamp.

It’s day 3 of previews and I’m featuring the adorable stamp set called Wild birthday.

I started by die cutting the fun new circle dies in this release on a white card panel. On a separate white panel I blended oxide inks in scattered straw, wild honey, and salvaged patina and attached it to the back of my die cut panel. I stamped and coloured the smaller images in the set around my panel.

I added more circle die cuts with bright panels blended in oxide inks behind each one and attached to my card front with foam tape. The characters were added on top of each die cut with foam tape as well. I finished the card with a sentiment added to the bottom.

Be sure to stop by the YNS blog to get all the details on all the giveaways happening during the previews. There is also a fun Instagram hop starting on the 16th where the full release will be revealed and there will prizes available there as well.

Allie

Lisianthus

Sharing 2 cards today using the seriously gorgeous Lisianthus flower stamp set from Technique Tuesday. This was such an easy flower to colour and is definitely going to be a set that I reach for when I need a floral card.

I made 2 cards with this set for my stash. Both were coloured with triblend markers and die cut with the matching Die.

I kept the same feel using stencils for the backgrounds.

A scalloped circle die cut was cut from one panel, a sentiment stamped inside of it. Floral sprigs from my stash were added behind the lisianthus for some extra texture.

I added a scalloped rectangle frame in white to the center of my second card with a soft yellow background. I attached it on top with foam tape to a stencilled panel. I glued the lisianthus partially in the frame and attached the sentiment on a yellow frame and attached to my card with foam tape as well.

Sea you soon

I’m so in love with July’s Animal House Stamps from Technique Tuesday. These shells were so easy to colour, it made for 2 very quick cards that gives me those summer vibes. The set also has many variations of shells which makes it easy to change up your layout. For my 2 cards I picked out my favourite shells, did a slightly different layout for both but kept the cards similar in style.

To make the cards I did a simple stencilled Background 2/3rd of the way down my white card panel. I ripped that purple tape (I always forget the name of it) like masking tape. Overlaying pieces of ripped up tape starting towards the bottom of the sky I created a band across the panel. Left a gap then made another band. I then pressed my embossing pad onto the white space in the gap and heat set sand like embossing powder. I trimmed each side down on the panel. (Just eyeballed)

I added a blue polka dot panel to a white card base and added the sky and embossed panel on top. I finished the card with the shells attached with foam tape.

My sentiment was stamped on the white space on the top panel.

The pink sea shell card I used the same technique with the tape but made only one strip and embossed the entire bottom of the panel. I stencilled the background with the same polka dot stencil and filled in the space with the smaller stamps in the set and small Copic marker dots.

I Ink blended a soft blue on top of where the embossing powder ended and attached my shells with foam tape.
